Our Practice About

Getting to Know Us

Pediatric Surgical Associates P.A. is one of the best pediatric surgery programs in the world. Our entire team wants to make your experience as pleasant as possible!

All three of our doctors are MDs, FACS, and FAAP.

MD designates a Medical Doctor.

FACS designates a physician as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as “Fellows.” The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.

The FAAP designation after a pediatrician’s name stands for Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Pediatricians who maintain their FAAP designation have obtained board certification in pediatrics and made an ongoing commitment to lifelong learning and advocacy for children.

New Patients

Please plan to arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment. The traffic and parking can sometimes be difficult and take more time than anticipated. Please take this into account when you leave for your visit. Parking is available in our building’s lot.

Check-in
When you arrive to the office in the building, you will first need to check in at the front desk. There, one of our staff will verify your personal information for your visit. You will be able to have a seat in our waiting area. During this time you will be asked to complete a demographic information sheet this will help the billing staff to correctly bill your insurance company. It is often helpful to complete these forms prior to your visit – please ask us over the phone to send them to you in advance.

Your Child’s Exam
Once you are called into the exam room, the Doctor will then review your child’s medical history in detail and a physical exam will be performed on your child to obtain a correct diagnosis.

Follow-up

After the doctor has seen your child, you may need to stop at the checkout desk to obtain school/work notes and a follow up appointment if necessary. At anytime, please do not hesitate to ask one of our staff for assistance or information.

Post-Op

Your post operative exam will be performed by one of our three surgeons.
