Initial ACS Verification for Level One Trauma Center Program at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego, CA 92123 was achieved in 2000.
Recertification for ACS Level One Program was accomplished 2003 and 2006(twice) during Directorship.

Specialized Training

Studied with Professor Lewis Spitz in London, England to learn Spitz Procedure for Isolated Wide Gap Esophageal Atresia for 2 weeks at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, University College London in October 1998.

Studied with John Foker, M.D. at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota to learn the Faker Procedure for Isolated Wide Gap Esophageal Atresia in April 2006.

First Surgical Attending to train with Dr. Donald Nuss and learn Nuss Procedure 1999. Started pectus deformities services in 1999. Continued working with Dr. Nuss at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA in 2002 and 2006. Dr. Nuss visited Rady Children’s Hospital in 2004 to work with me in San Diego, Ca.
